The Wolcott Circle of Sports Honors and Awards

Scholarships

Each year, Wolcott student athletes are encouraged to submit an application to compete for the Wolcott Circle of Sports scholarships.  Students are considered based upon a number of key factors including sports participation and leadership, academic achievement, extracurricular activities and community involvement.  They are required to submit a written narrative answering the question of why they should be selected.  Applications are collected and the recipients are chosen by committee.

Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame is our way of honoring the achievements of the students that we have recognized after they go forward and make us proud by excelling in their higher education, careers, communities and lives.  Each year, nominees are submitted by members of the community and selected honorees are inducted at our annual Award Banquet.

Nicholas E. D’Agostino Humanitarian Award

The original Humanitarian Award was bestowed in 1997 upon Nicholas E. D’Agostino, the first Principal of Wolcott High School and 50+ year member of the Wolcott Lion’s Club. In 1968, he was promoted to Superintendent of Wolcott Public Schools and served as President of the Connecticut Association of Public School Superintendents (CAPSS).  His time as an educator and administrator earned him many awards and accolades as a ardent supporter of students and education and a beloved humanitarian.  He passed away in 2014.  This award is given to an individual in the Wolcott community who works to better their community and is a tireless good neighbor to all.
